Our Story

The Story Behind Qahwah Valley — Manhattan's Arabian Coffee House

From a family tradition of hand-roasted qahwah to your favorite coffee spot on 1st Avenue, Midtown Manhattan.

How We Started

From a Family Recipe to Midtown Manhattan's Favorite Coffee House

Three generations of Arabian coffee tradition, now brewing daily on 1st Avenue.

Qahwah Valley started with a single recipe passed down through three generations of our family — a traditional Arabian coffee blend roasted with cardamom and served with warmth. What began as weekend gatherings in a small Manhattan apartment slowly turned into a neighborhood pop-up, and finally into the coffee house you know today at 630 1st Avenue in Midtown East. Every cup we serve carries that same family tradition, and every dish on our menu has a story rooted in Arabian hospitality.

What we stand for

Real food, made with care

Three things guide every plate we serve.

Fresh ingredients sourced from local farms and seafood picked up daily. Honest cooking with no shortcuts and no fillers, where the recipes are simple because the ingredients do the talking. A welcoming room you should feel at home in the moment you walk through the door, whether it is your first visit or your hundredth.

Good to know

Questions we hear often

We work with a handful of local farms and a fishmonger who has been with us since day one. Our menu shifts with the seasons.
